Cosmic Happenings
New Moon
We’ll experience a New Moon in the northern hemisphere on Friday 5th of July.
She’ll be in the astrological sign of cancer, a water sign and ruled by the Moon – expect a supercharged and emotional new moon where your intuition will be heightened.
It’ll be a perfect time to practise Reiki and meditate.
A time to go inwards and uncover repressed emotions; whether it’s happiness, anger, worry.
Let it all come flowing out.
Grab your notebook and journal to work through the thoughts and feelings.
It’s also a time to practise gratitude, give thanks to family and friends and feel the love coming through.
Then take as much time as you need and want to truly nourish and nurture all parts of you. Yes, I’m talking lots of self-care.
Once you’ve allowed this time, you may want to set an intention, after all that’s what New Moons are all about.
Your intention can be how you want to feel, what you want to change or a new goal.
Really feel into and allow the cancer new moon to support your wishes.
Full Moon

On Sunday 21st of July we’ll find the Full Moon in Capricorn. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of karma and getting things done.
This full moon will allow you another chance to finally release any emotions you’re hanging onto after the cancer new moon rituals.
It’s a time to get really clear on what they are and take actionable steps to overcome them. You don’t want them to keep coming back around.
I’m reminded of the Tarot card, the Wheel of Fortune also known as the karmic wheel.
Karma isn’t about wishing illness on others because they’ve done you wrong. It’s about leading a life with intention and love.
The more love, joy and happiness you send out into the world, the more you will receive back.
Your thoughts and intentions are on creating a happy and abundant life, and as a result you can guarantee the universe will answer and provide.
Focus on the good, find this through your Reiki practise, meditation and journaling.
You may find the need to have a good old clear out and tidy up – the organised, Capricorn Full Moon is willing you too.
Remember everything is energy, that includes clothes, shoes, nick nacks and bit bobs!
So, if it doesn’t make you feel good anymore or you don’t really need it, let it go…and make way for fresh new energy.
Guidance for the Soul
One of my favourite oracle card decks is called Soul Love.
They’re packaged in a beautiful yellow and green box and radiate love, warmth and positivity.
After practising Reiki I asked the cards for guidance from the universe for the collective and this is what came through.

Card: Appreciation.
This feels like the perfect month to receive this card as we’ve entered summer and experienced the summer solstice.
The solstice is the time of year to reflect on the year so far and bask in your achievements and give thanks.
Now these achievements don’t have to be massive like, I hit a £10k month or I started a new business.
I’m talking about all those small daily steps you’ve taken to get where you are today.
Perhaps at the start of the year you wanted to walk more, and have found yourself getting out and about more.
Maybe you wanted to reduce your alcohol intake and have done – if only by a small amount.
Or you wanted more time for you and set your alarm 20 minutes earlier to practise Reiki and meditation.
It could be that you’re making steps towards changing jobs. After all, these things take time.
Reflect and Appreciate
When you take the time to reflect, you’ll see what worked and what didn’t.
You’ll realise what made you happy or unhappy and why.
Then you can appreciate and give thanks for everything that took place to get you here today. A bit like connecting the dots, some are bright and shiny dots, some are dark and grey.
It’s your job to make changes to those grey dots to create future shiny ones.
But, you’ll only get this clarity if you take the time out.
nurture, grow, appreciate
I planted a sunflower seed a few months back.
It began in a very small plastic pot sitting on the windowsill in the kitchen; the sunny space.
I’ve watered, nurtured and when it was ready, re-planted it in a bigger pot.
It was time to find a space in the garden…and now, well, it’s too early to flower but it continues to grow.
Each day the leaves stretch and expand, soon it will need re-potting again.
This is a perfect example of what happens when you take the time to nurture, water, feed and focus on a seed.
And I’m not just talking about a flower.
Journal Prompts to support you.
Feel free to answer some or all of the following journal prompts.
They’re linked to each of the topics within this blog and will help you dive deeper to support your spiritual and healing journey.
-What emotions are you holding onto?
-Who or what could be causing them?
-Are you ready to finally release them?
-What intention (if any) would you like to set for the new moon?
-What would it feel like to nourish every part of you?
-Write down three things you can do to support your self-care.
-How can you connect with your intuition to receive guidance from the universe?
-Lead with love, joy and compassion. How easy would this be to do?
-Thinking back over the last six months, what three things are you most happy about?
-Do you want to practise more self-care?
-How often do you nurture You?
-What’s stopping you from taking more time for You?
And breathe…

I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog and that it supports you throughout July. Some of it may not make sense at the moment. That’s why I’d recommend keeping it flagged in your inbox. Come back to it later in the month and see what’s unfolded for you.
Until next time,
Jody x

I’ve been trying to make “Moon Journaling” a habit, but I seem to get started and then fall away from it. Every time the next New Moon comes around, I try again. Wish me luck! Maybe this time I’ll make it through a full lunar month.
Hey Judith! Ah, I know what you mean. I aim to journal most days but try to have ‘moon-focused’ days when they come around. Although I have missed some. Have you got a moon calendar? Or perhaps look up the next dates and add a reminder in your phone of the date. Then add some ‘you time’ in your calendar on the day. Do what feels right, otherwise it will become another thing on your to-do-list and it’ll take the joy out of it. Good luck!
Ah hahaha, well I hope you find a way to blend the moon and Spirit of Tarot Judith – they are the perfect combination x
Thanks. I’ve got the date marked and I have a set of prompts to use for different moon phases. I just get so busy with Spirit of Tarot that I don’t take the time to keep up with my journal. I start off with good intentions, but after I miss a day or two, I sort of throw my hands up and think, “Oh, well, I’ll try again next time!” I also have a couple of “moon-based” card decks, but I haven’t yet found a way to really utilize them yet. Thanks for the good wishes!
