What is stopping you from saying Yes to doing something you really want to do? I asked myself this question a month ago, when I came across an event for Networking & making flower crowns.
I loved the sound of the event, it was held at Sunny Flowers Farm, Cheshire. It was a chance to network, walk around the farm looking at the beautiful flowers then having the opportunity to make your own flower crown (pic below)
Why are you saying No?
But my initial reaction was to say No, I can’t do it. I thought of all the things I should be doing instead, like VA work, housework, building Spiritual Wellness.
I thought about the cost, and how I could justify spending £16.00 to spend a morning chatting & being creative.
How can I make this happen?
Then I thought; how can I make this happen?
I want to do it. It will bring me Joy. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do (make a flower crown) So let’s make this happen.
I checked my VA work schedule; I could move work to the afternoon.
I checked my money situation and thought about how I would feel after I’ve been there, making sure I wouldn’t be left short; I could do it.
I checked if going there fitted in with my values; Exciting, Freedom, Flexiblity, Joy, Opportunities, Money, Love, Creativity, Enthusiastic – A BIG TICK
So I booked it!
I admit the day before I was nervous and had second thoughts; should I cancel and just do the VA work in the morning and have a normal day.
NO JODY – GO!
So I did; and I had an amazing time; it was joyful, exciting, creative, I loved it.
Opportunities
And I met another lady who Customises Upholstery and makes Handmade Quirky Furniture, Emma Semper Hopkins, we got chatting, sat next to each other and spent the time looking at the flowers together. We’re meeting again in July to talk a business collaboration – Reiki & Upholstery – OPPORTUNITIES
So, next time you see something you want to do but a voice in your head says No;
