Find out what four simple things You can do during the Spring Equinox, that’ll help clear out stagnant energy, lift your spirit, energise you AND get you ready for the new season and new astrological year.

On Monday the 20th of March it’s the Spring Equinox and the Astrological New Year, and I’m so excited!
Why am I excited?
Well, for starters, it means lighter night’s and lighter mornings, the start of a new season, new life etc.
But it’s so much more than that…
If you think back to January and how you felt when people around were making resolutions, knowing full well they’d have fallen by the wayside at the end of January.
Do you know why they do?
Because it’s January, it’s winter, it’s cold, dark and summer seems so far away.
I mean, if we were grizzly bears, we’d still be hibernating; in fact, if we were cavepeople, I think we’d still be hibernating.
But make a resolution during the Astrological new year & Spring Equinox, and it all changes.
And this is why…

The astrological new year starts in Aries, a fire sign!
Aries is renowned for being motivated, passionate, relentless, energetic, and, as it’s at the start of the year – a natural born leader.
With this kind of energy around, how can you not have a get-out there and get-it attitude?
Along with the Spring Equinox bringing her light and new beginnings, I challenge anyone who isn’t motivated by this to put their best foot forward and start creating.
To help you get the best start to this new astrological year & Spring Equinox, here are four things you can do on or around this magical time of year…
(Don’t worry if you’re reading this after the 20th March, you can start anytime)
Spring clean during the spring equinox
Why not; EVERYTHING is energy.
Having a good clear out allows for old energy to be dispersed and new energy to come in.
Those clothes you’ve been hanging onto, just in case, give them to charity.
The same with those shoes (I know it’s hard, I’m still hanging onto some of mine…)
Dust, hoover, smudge, spray, spritz, cleanse, open windows and clear it all out.
Imagine swiping away the stagnant energy and vision gorgeous cleansing energy coming in.
Make sure your doorways into your house are clear of any clutter.
Clear out your purse/wallet, bin any old receipts and shred any cards you no longer use…money is energy, so you wanna create space for more to come in.
What else?
Oh yes, your car.
If its anything like mine, it slowly gathers sweet wrappers, old receipts, drink bottles and is used for storage too.
So grab a bag and clean that car out.
If you’re feeling really inspired, you could actually clean your car…or you could leave it for a few more months like I’ll be doing.
Baby steps right?!

Set a goal or intention.
It’s a new (astrological) year, after all! Give it a go; what have you got to lose?
Remember what I said earlier about New Year resolutions failing in January?
It’s winter, it’s cold, dark and we should be hibernating. I wasn’t actually joking about this.
Living aligned with natures cycles means you follow the ebb of flow of the seasons and the moon.
And this means, in winter, you slow down. I’m not saying stop because we all need to earn money and have responsibilities.
Around Imbolc you’ll start to feel the stirrings of Spring and you’ll start thinking about setting goals and what you want to acheive.
Then when Spring comes, you can plant those intentions and set those goals, because you’ll feel like you want to.
Your body is ready, it feels the change of season and it’s ready to come out of hibernation and take on the world! (well, maybe an exaggeration taking on the world, but you know what I mean)

Walk.
Run, dance, jog, bike however you like to get out in nature – Get out!
Being around nature, trees, grass, flowers, canals, and water is good for the soul.
Breathe deeply and inhale the freshness of the day.
Feel the mind fog lifting, the air cleansing your body and lifting your spirit.
Walking has been soooo good for my mental health & wellbeing, it’s become one of my non-negotiable self-care tools.
That, plus Reiki & journaling.
You may want to think about creating your own self-care tool kit?
Dry bathe.
This is an excellent practice I’ve learnt in Reiki.
The aim is to brush off negative energy if someone’s annoyed you, you’re feeling anxious, stressed or just need a reset.
Get dry bathing!
How you do it
Take a deep breath in.
Put your right hand on your left shoulder, and when you breathe out, sweep it down across your torso to the right hip and sweep it off.
Repeat this process using your left hand on your right shoulder and sweep down to the left hip.
Then once more on the right.
Remember to breathe in, then as you sweep down, breathe out.
Now you need to do your arms.
Using your right hand, breathe in and brush down your left arm.
Now the opposite side; then back to using your right arm.
Congratulations, you’ve just dry bathed all the negative energy away!
Go forward in peace…

You can dry bathe as many times as you like, wherever you like and for whatever reason.
I once did it on the side of a football pitch…
I was watching one of my sons play football and there was a lot of negativity coming from the parents I was stood around so I said to them,
‘oh for goodness sake! No wonder they’re not winning with all this negativity!’
and I proceeded to dry bathe!
It worked, I felt so much better.
Anyway…
