How it all began

It’s fair to say, since 2019, I’ve been on a path of self-discovery after accepting redundancy. I was turning 40 the following year and I had the whole world in front of me, but instead of being excited, I felt overwhelmed, anxious and empty.

I’d been with the business for 17 years, pretty much my whole adult life (to that point) I had family & friends there; in the early days it was a blast. We embodied the work hard / play hard mentality.

But, that isn’t sustainable as we get older and it certainly wasn’t sustainable as the business grew, not only in size but maturity & professionally too.

After a takeover from an investment company and sale to an American company; things changed dramatically. So did the people in charge, family & friends left and after years of knowing my place, who I was etc, it all slowly started to fall apart.

Eventually, there was a restructure, and I accepted redundancy.

Not only was my life about to change, but also my children’s & husbands; I was now going to be home a lot more and I had some serious thinking about what I was going to do next.

I knew I didn’t want to jump back into management or that industry.

And, I knew that if I was ever going to change direction and do something that I actually wanted to do, now was the time. This opportunity would never come round again.

The path of rediscovery

So what does an almost 40-year-old Jody do?

I’ll tell you…

I spent the next year and a half re-discovering who I was, re-building my self-worth and self-belief, healing on deep levels and finding my joy.

My joy was in connecting with nature, energy healing, working with the moon cycles, nature cycles, reading Tarot & Oracle cards, journaling, writing, meditating, practicing gratitude & tuning into my intuition.

Healing is messy

It’s painful & hard.

I spent time with a therapist, completed an 11 week healing programme, worked with a NLP & timeline therapy coach and read countless books on personal development (spiritually aligned books)

I joined a membership so I could continue my healing journey with like minded women; coming together & sharing our highs & lows is magical. It gives you power.

Amazing things happen when women come together & show their vulnerability; and this was a key element to my healing journey.

It was in this community that I heard about a book publisher, The Unbound Press, a soul-led publishing imprint, committed to working with female authors whose writing activates a feeling of deep connection and transformation in others.

The authors & books they write really do bring a sense of deep connection & transformation.

I’d been feeling called to share my own healing journey and the opportunity came up through The Unbound Press; a book collaboration and project called Soul Shine. The book is being released in November 2022 – keep an eye out; it’s going to make you want to shake off your shackles, step out and shine bright like you were always meant to.

living my joy

I created Spiritual Wellness in April 2020, and in 2021 I began my Reiki journey. And in May 2022, I became a Reiki Master Teacher.

Today I continue on my own healing journey (it never stops)

I’m the gateway to all things moon, tarot, energy healing, intuition, writing, and journaling for those starting their healing journey.

I want to live my joy every day, and having You here, allows me to do that.

And so, I thank you✨
